3 LBs of Legos from eBay

I recently started playing with Legos with my oldest daughter, Avalee. She is finally at the age where she can assemble and disassemble Legos without too much help. Our first lot of Legos came from my wife’s boss. I’d say about 10 pounds of blocks that actually turned out to be mostly megablocks. After separating the Legos from the mega blocks, we had about 4 or 5 pounds of Legos left. I wanted more so I got 2 pounds from eBay. You can read about that here. This week I bought ANOTHER 3 LBs of Legos. After buying Legos on eBay from two different sellers, here’s what I have to say about it.

If you are looking for a quick way to bump up your Lego collection, and aren’t afraid to gamble, I would recommend shopping in bulk from eBay. If you know that you want to build a Ferris Wheel, and just a Ferris Wheel, maybe you should buy a specific Lego set that contains the items to build a Ferris Wheel. The bulk Legos from eBay are chosen at random, and usually contain a bunch of one-off pieces that you may not even know how to utilize. The more you buy, the better selection you will have, but I still think if you want to build a truck and trailer, you’d be better off spending $15 on a specific set than spending $50 on 5 pounds and hope you get what you want.

This is what 3 LBs of Legos looks like. I should have spread them out more because this picture doesn’t really do it justice.

I was overall pleased with the selection and my daughter was excited. She is a huge fan of the chests, safes, boxes, doors, and stuff that opens and closes. We were lucky enough to get a few cool pieces like that for her.

Some sellers on eBay offer incentives for buying more. The 3 LB lot that we got came with 1 mini figure for each pound when you buy 3 or more pounds. These are the 3 mini figures we got in this set, along with some accessories.

Here we have a standard guy with regular clothes on. This is my opinion of what the definitive Lego guy should look like; with a touch of modern with the hair and face.

Here we have a crook; always a good character to have to play good guys vs bad guys.

And here we have some sort of space exploration guy. I remember this one from when I was a kid, but not sure what it’s supposed to be.

Here are the accessories that came with: Looks like we have a life-jacket, back-pack, hand-cuffs, cordless drill, binoculars, oxygen tanks, some dynamite, and the large red thing is actually a dolly, or hand cart.

wheelI think now we have a decent amount of Legos to build almost anything. I am considering buying a some wheels and tires from eBay, or maybe even buy a set that comes with a truck and trailer, or something that comes with a lot of wheels. This lot did come with 4 of the larger ‘truck’ wheels, so I was happy with that.

Please leave me a comment if you want to see my daughter and I attempt to build something specific, and as always, thanks for reading!
