You may not be able to tell, due to my lack of posting, but zRPG 2 has come a long way in the past couple months. We essentially have all the functionality that zRPG 1 had, but with a much better database structure, code quality, and overall presentation. Following this post, there will be a post showing the game and all the different screens.

The reason this post is called “Goodbye WinForms – Hello Unity” is because I have finally decided to take a step in a different direction when it comes to game development. I will no longer be using WinForms to create games. I will be switching to Unity. Unity is a cross platform game engine, specifically designed for creating games. It only makes sense that I use this if I want to create real, playable games. One of the things I want to do immediately is figure out a way to have my games playable from this website, which I am not 100% sure if WordPress will allow.

I have already created a (simple text adventure) game in Unity, and will try to get it posted if I can work out the kinks. In the mean time, keep an eye out for the final(?) zRPG post.
